Julie is a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist who specializes in treating young children, ages birth to three, with communication delays and disorders. She earned her Bachelor and Master degrees from Valdosta State University. Julie holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and her state licensure from Georgia. She has over 25 years of experience, having worked in both public and private settings including the Hall County school system, in-home therapy through Babies Can’t Wait (early intervention), and now Helping Hands Pediatric Therapy.
Julie is heavily influenced by Laura Mize of “Teach me to Talk,” who believes you begin therapy “where a child is.” She has training in PROMPT Treatment Method of Apraxia of Speech, as well as experience in articulation disorders, fluency, and language disorders across varying diagnoses. Her heart is with children who are ”late talkers” or are on the Autism Spectrum.
During her time off, Julie enjoys family time, shopping, crafting, and eating at Chicken Salad Chick!
