Laurie Tison was born in China and was adopted at age 5. She was raised on a family farm in South Georgia. She earned an Associate of Science in Allied Health, in 2014, from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. In 2017, she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in Exercise Science and Wellness and a minor in Psychology from Georgia Southwestern State University. Laurie moved to Gainesville in 2018 where she continued her education at Brenau University and graduated with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2021. Through her schooling and fieldwork rotations, Laurie has gained experience working with children and adults with various conditions including ADHD/ADD, Autism, Down Syndrome sensory processing disorders and other developmental delays. Laurie plans to continue her education in areas related to pediatric such as feeding, sensory integration, Therapeutic Listening and oral motor in order to better serve her patients.
